Course overview

Elite athletes don't practice fundamentals because they've forgotten them, they do it to sharpen their edge! In the same way, this training goes beyond a simple review of the laws and codes governing helping professions - it's an opportunity to stress-test your ethical reasoning. Informed consent, confidentiality, scope of practice, and duty to warn/protect are examined through the lens of real-world complexity, as well as emerging challenges with ethics and technology such as AI. Opportunities will be given to practice those fundamentals through case vignettes and peer discussion.
