Ethics of Telehealth for Mental Health Professionals in Action

Course overview

This interactive workshop explores the ethical, legal, relational and clinical dimensions of providing telehealth services by mental health professionals. Participants will examine confidentiality, informed consent, boundaries, crisis management, multicultural considerations, documentation and clinicial self awareness in virtual settings. Through lecture, discussion, psychodrama, sociometry, role training and experiential exercises, clinicians wil strengthen ethical decision-making and develop practical telehealth competencies for real world practice. Objectives: Participants will be able to: 1. Identify major ethical and legal considerations involved in telehealth counseling practice. 2. Apply ethical decision-making models to complex telehealth scenarios involving confidentiality, boundaries, and emergencies. 3. Demonstrate increased competence in managing therapeutic presence, informed consent, and crisis response in vrtual settings. 4. Utilize psychodrama and experiential action methods to explore countertransference, clinician boundaries and ethical dilemnas in telehealth practice.
