Course overview

Gait observation is one of those clinical skills that most practitioners do constantly but few have been taught to do rigorously. In this 8-hour on-demand course - Part 1 of a two-part series - Dr. Kyra Kane, BScPT, MSc, PhD, takes you deep into normal and pathological gait mechanics: the phases of the gait cycle, how joints and muscles move during walking, how ground reaction forces shape both typical and atypical patterns, and practical strategies for making your visual observations more accurate and clinically meaningful. Primarily pediatric in focus, with application to adult populations. Part 1 is a prerequisite for Part 2 on individualized AFO prescription.
