Learners will understand how the five main device types work and what distinguishes them, when to order monitoring based on clinical presentation and symptom frequency, how to read an ambulatory ECG report and identify clinically significant findings, and how to translate those findings into specific management decisions. The course uses plain language, real clinical cases, and evidence-based guidance drawn from current ACC/AHA and HRS guidelines so that what is learned can be applied directly in practice. Ambulatory ECG monitoring is one of the most commonly ordered cardiac diagnostic tools, yet clinicians across specialties frequently lack confidence selecting the appropriate device for a given patient, interpreting the findings that come back, and connecting those findings to an actionable management decision. A patient with unexplained syncope may leave the hospital with a short-duration monitor that has virtually no chance of capturing an infrequent arrhythmia. A patient with cryptogenic stroke may be discharged without a plan for extended cardiac surveillance, even though paroxysmal atrial fibrillation is among the most common and treatable causes. Consumer wearables are now generating cardiac data that patients bring to appointments before any clinician has ordered monitoring, and many providers are unsure how to evaluate or act on those results.
