Course overview
The purpose and goal of this course is to educate healthcare professionals about how to recognize the phases of healing and types of wounds and infection. You will be able to recognize infection, document, intervene with new treatments and choose the type of dressing that will promote healing. Course objectives include: Describe the 4 phases of the healing cycle and the important characteristics of each phase. Differentiate between colonized or contaminate, critically colonized, and infected wounds. Explain how to accurately measure the length, width, and depth of a wound.
