Tuberculosis and Respiratory Infection Control

Course overview

This course covers tuberculosis epidemiology in Florida, TB transmission via droplet nuclei, TST and IGRA interpretation, airborne precautions and negative-pressure room requirements, N95 respirator use, MDR-TB and XDR-TB treatment, and Florida Department of Health mandatory TB reporting. Upon completion, participants will apply airborne infection control measures, distinguish latent TB infection from active disease, and fulfill OSHA fit-testing and healthcare worker screening requirements.
