Course overview

This continuing education course provides PTs, PTAs, OTs, and COTAs with an evidence-based framework for the evaluation and management of individuals with Parkinson disease (PD). Participants will review the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and progression of PD while differentiating idiopathic PD from other parkinsonian syndromes. The course will explore current medical management, the role of exercise and neuroprotection, and the application of motor learning principles in PD rehabilitation. Through case-based learning and discussion, clinicians will develop strategies for selecting appropriate examinations, outcome measures, and interventions across the continuum of care. Participants will leave with practical tools to support clinical decision-making and optimize outcomes for individuals living with Parkinson disease.
