MIGRAINE IN VESTIBULAR PATIENTS: A CLINICAL UPDATE

Name the audio-vestibular symptoms associated with migraine. 3. Describe the clinical pathways used to evaluate this sub-group. 4. List the management and treatment options available. Description: This web seminar will provide attendees with an overview of vestibular symptoms, test findings and treatment options in the migraine population. According to the American Academy of Neurology, 24,000 per 100,000 persons are affected with Migraine and 30% of those will have vestibular symptoms with or without the accompanying headache typically associated with Migraine. Audiologists have a unique opportunity to play a key role in working with patients and physicians in further differentiating Migraine from other otologic and non-otologic conditions and recommending appropriate triage and treatment. Interestingly, migrainuers have three times the incidence of both BPPV and Meniere's disease, often making their evaluation and management much more complex.
