Course overview

Summary This practical workshop prepares clinicians to assess and respond to domestic violence using a trauma-informed approach. Participants will learn to identify coercive control and lethality risk, conduct safe and effective assessments, and develop collaborative safety plans for survivors. The training also explores how technology can increase risk through monitoring, harassment, and coercive control, while also serving as a tool for safety, connection, and resource access. Through case examples clinicians will learn intervention strategies that support stabilization, resilience, and ongoing safety planning. Learning Objectives Clinicians will learn to: 1. Identify indicators of domestic violence, coercive control, lethality risk, and technology-facilitated abuse. 2. Conduct trauma-informed assessments that prioritize safety, confidentiality, and digital safety considerations. 3. Develop collaborative safety plans and crisis intervention strategies that address risks. 4. Apply trauma-informed interventions and community-based resources to support stabilization, resilience, and ongoing safety for survivors and families impacted by domestic violence.
