Training Series description: A five part training series equipping healthcare providers with practical DBT-informed approaches to help patients build skills in mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Session A: Introduction and Foundations Session Description: Provides an overview of DBTs development, evidence base, and structure, with a preview of DBT-informed skills to be covered in the series. Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Describe the origins and development of DBT. 2. Summarize research evidence supporting DBT and its skills. 3. Distinguish between adherent DBT treatment and DBT-informed approaches. 4. Identify the four DBT skill areas: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.
