Course overview

Assessing Edema prepares massage & manual therapists to safely and effectively assess patients that present with edema. This online massage & manual therapy course provides therapists with the confidence to apply effective therapist-patient communication and treatment planning for patients presenting with edema and lymphatic dysfunction. Therapists will review the common causes of edema and learn how to effectively assess edema in a variety of conditions and states of healing. Assessing Edema will allow therapists to review key precautions, contraindications, and reasons to refer the patient, including emergency medical treatment. Together with Understanding the Lymphatic System and Treating Edema, learners will develop a well-rounded understanding of the lymphatic system, common lymphatic system conditions, and how to confidently assess and treat edema in their clinical practice.
