Course overview
This course prepares medical-surgical nurses for the infection prevention and control domain of the CMSRN and MEDSURG-BC certification exams. It provides a review of evidence-based practices for stopping the spread of infection through standard and transmission-based precautions. It also reviews prevention strategies for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and principles of antimicrobial stewardship.
