Tracking # 20-1386575
Course overview
This Delaware nursing course prepares nurses to recognize and respond to suspected or known sexual abuse, physical abuse, exploitation, human trafficking, domestic violence, child abuse, and neglect involving vulnerable persons. Learners will apply practical safety, communication, documentation, professional role-boundary, escalation, and reporting principles to situations encountered in patient care and workplace practice. The course addresses Delaware's requirement for nursing professionals renewing on or after October 1, 2025, to complete at least 1 Contact Hour on the recognition and reporting of abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and domestic violence during each reporting period. Although developed to meet Delaware nursing continuing education requirements, the recognition, safety, communication, documentation, and reporting principles reviewed in this course are applicable nationally across nursing professions and healthcare practice settings. State-specific definitions, reporting procedures, and continuing education requirements may vary.
