Course overview

*Differentiate hallux limitus from hallux rigidus based on mechanics, sesamoid glide, and first-ray motion required for normal gait propulsion. *Recognize gait compensations and differential diagnoses associated with hallux limitus and explain the role of first-ray drop in treatment. *Demonstrate extensor hallucis brevis retraining, needling, and first-ray stability drills using TheraBand resistance. *Apply intrinsic foot exercises, orthotic modifications, and footwear selection strategies to support first-ray drop and first MTP function.
