Course overview
Describe the interstitial spaces of the lung and identify the five radiographic patterns of infiltrative lung disease. Differentiate reticular, nodular, miliary, reticulonodular, and honeycomb patterns on chest radiographs. Apply the SHIPS and BOATS and SPINE mnemonics to develop differential diagnoses for reticular and nodular infiltrative patterns. Analyze chest radiographs to recognize disease progression to honeycomb fibrosis and distinguish true infiltrative disease from technical artifacts.
