Course overview
Transferring patients in a manner that best minimizes injuries to self and patient is one of the most important aspects of daily work for nurses. This program discusses safe patient transfers. Topics include basic principles of transferring a patient; common types of injuries caused by improper transfer; important assessment data to collect prior to beginning physical activity of a patient; important considerations for using assistive devices; and the components of a safe patient handling mobility program.
