This course focuses on the communication and collaborative care skills essential for bridging oral and systemic health in clinical practice. Participants will learn motivational interviewing and patient communication techniques that build trust, enhance engagement, and support adherence. The course covers the core components of a comprehensive, patient-centered oral health treatment plan, including how to assess and prioritize oral health needs based on medical, behavioral, and lifestyle factors. Providers will also develop skills to design individualized care plans that integrate prevention, early intervention, and maintenance strategies, and will practice facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration across dental, medical, and nursing teams through interactive case-based exercises.
