This presentation will review the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical signs, and presenting complaints related to Lyme disease and leptospirosis in dogs. Detailed coverage of several algorithms for treatment and vaccination strategies for both Lyme disease and leptospirosis, as well as future testing in dogs that are Lyme positive will be presented. Practitioners will be able to describe the signs associated with Lyme infection and leptospirosis, describe testing and treatment options, and understand vaccination strategies. Learners will also explore how Lyme and leptospirosis are both wildlife associated diseases and what dogs could be at risk.
