This course is part of the Practitioners Teaching Practitioners Series Participants will have the opportunity to share their favorite adult feeding tips, tricks or adaptive equipment. Come prepared to share links, and information with the group. This webinar will be held on Zoom. This course will NOT be offered as a self paced course due to the interactive nature of the course. This course will discuss helpful strategies for navigating school based practice that you did not learn in school. Have you ever found that the go to adaptive equipment does not quite work for your client? Or maybe your best strategy hit a wall because of cost, compliance, or context? Join us for this interactive webinar where occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and students come together to share and learn real life strategies for supporting feeding performance using compensatory techniques, adaptive equipment and household items. This course highlights the practical know how that comes from hands on experience in a variety of settings. The course will feature multiple video demonstrations of commonly used strategies and tools, but the real power lies in community sharing. Participants will be invited to post their own favorite tips, product suggestions, video links, or success stories in the chat throughout the session. Whether you are just starting out or are a seasoned clinician, you will walk away with new perspectives and creative tools that come straight from the OT and OTA community. This course celebrates what we learn from each other, because sometimes the best ideas are not found in a textbook! Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students This occupational therapy continuing education course uses the following instructional methods: visual aides ie slides, discussion board, guided note taking, and learning, and practice opportunities.
