Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects nearly one-third of senior cats, yet no two patients experience the disease in exactly the same way. Advances in our understanding of feline CKD are reshaping how veterinarians approach diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment, moving beyond a one-size-fits-all strategy toward more individualized care. This webinar will explore the diverse clinical trajectories that characterize feline CKD and discuss practical approaches for tailoring management to the needs of individual patients. Through case-based examples, attendees will review emerging concepts in early intervention, including management of anemia, phosphorus homeostasis, and acid-base balance, as well as the growing recognition of interactions between the gastrointestinal tract and the kidneys. The session will conclude with a look toward the future of feline nephrology, highlighting promising areas of ongoing research and therapeutic innovation that may further transform care for cats with kidney disease.
