Red Flags is an online, evidence-informed training designed to increase participant awareness of human trafficking and strengthen the ability to recognize, respond to, and report concerns appropriately. The purpose of this course is to provide practical education on the realities of human trafficking, including key definitions, common myths, trafficker tactics, grooming strategies, risk factors, and indicators that may suggest possible victimization. The course also addresses physical, behavioral, communication, and psychological warning signs, trauma-related responses, and barriers that may prevent victims from seeking help or disclosing abuse. The intent of the course content is to equip participants with foundational knowledge that supports early identification of possible trafficking situations and promotes safe, informed, trauma-aware action. Participants are guided through recognition of red flags, consideration of victim-centered responses, and appropriate next steps, including reporting concerns and use of available hotline or emergency resources. The course also highlights the role of professionals, bystanders, and community members in supporting identification and response efforts.
