What you'll learn

At the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Select the most appropriate treatment approach for patients with HER2-mutant NSCLC based on disease factors and patient preferences

Course overview

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) alterations, including gene mutations, gene amplifications, and protein overexpression, represent promising therapeutic targets in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). HER2-targeted therapies, including antibody-drug conjugates and tyrosine kinase inhibitors, are available for HER2-mutant NSCLC, and their indications are expanding to the first-line setting (NCCN, 2026). Due to the complexities of treatment selection, it is crucial to individualize treatment based on disease factors and patient preferences. Module 2 of this Clinical Insights Microlearning Series will explore how to personalize therapy in HER2-mutant NSCLC. It will feature insights from Zofia Piotrowska, MD, MHS, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Clinical Co-Director of the MGB Thoracic Medical Oncology Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, with nursing perspectives from Victoria Sherry, DNP, ANP-BC, AOCNP, and pathology perspectives from Soo-Ryum (Stewart) Yang, MD.
