Describe the structural anatomy of the tibia, fibula, and talus and their articulations at the ankle. Identify the nerves, arteries, veins, and fascial structures supplying the ankle and foot. Describe the ligaments of the subtalar, midtarsal, and tarsometatarsal joints of the foot. Explain the innervation and vascular supply of the foot via the sacral plexus and tibial and peroneal arteries. Differentiate the lateral and medial collateral ligaments of the ankle and the muscles producing ankle dorsiflexion. Identify the tarsal, metatarsal, and phalangeal bones forming the medial and lateral arches of the foot. Apply conservative treatment protocols for dancer's heel, rearfoot valgus deformity, and osteochondrosis. Evaluate orthotic and rehabilitation strategies for forefoot varus, hyperpronation, hypermobile 1st ray, and hypopronation. Demonstrate Strain Counterstrain techniques for tender points of the ankle and foot. Apply treatment protocols and friction massage for lateral collateral ligament sprains of the ankle. Demonstrate psoas stretching and postisometric relaxation techniques for functional hyperpronation. Apply conservative treatment including stretching and friction massage for anterior compartment syndrome and Achilles tendinosis. Describe treatment approaches for foot drop, metatarsalgia, Morton's neuroma, and plantar fasciitis.
