Learn moreCourse overview
This 2-hour webinar provides pediatric occupational therapy practitioners with an evidence-based overview of the therapeutic use of whole-body vibration (WBV) plates in clinical practice. Participants will learn the effects of WBV on the sensory system; specifically vestibular, proprioceptive, and tactile systems, as well as neuromuscular systems in pediatric clients. Participants will be able to identify appropriate clinical indications and contraindications for its use. This webinar addresses essential safety considerations and precautions when implementing WBV interventions with children and examines functional occupational therapy activities including interventions targeting postural control, attention, and self-regulation. Evidence-based parameters such as frequency, duration, positioning, and therapeutic intent are reviewed to support safe, effective, and occupation-based integration of whole-body vibration within pediatric occupational therapy practice.
