Down and Out: A Case-Based Review of Patients That Just Can't Walk

Course overview

This Florida Veterinary Medical Association-sponsored webinar provides a practical, case-based approach to evaluating dogs and cats that present with an acute inability to walk. While intervertebral disc disease is a common cause of non-ambulatory patients, numerous neurologic, orthopedic, cardiovascular, metabolic, and systemic disorders can present with similar clinical signs. Participants will learn a logical, stepwise approach to patient assessment, neurologic localization, differential diagnosis, and clinical decision-making. Through real-world clinical cases, attendees will gain practical strategies for prioritizing diagnostics, initiating appropriate stabilization and treatment, and recognizing when referral is indicated to optimize patient outcomes.
