Course overview
This course reviews the clinical laboratory role in HIV screening, diagnosis, monitoring, and patient care. Participants will examine HIV transmission, disease progression, specimen collection and handling, screening and confirmatory testing methods, quality control, result interpretation, and common causes of inaccurate or inconclusive findings. The course also addresses occupational exposure prevention, standard precautions, confidentiality, documentation, and timely communication of laboratory results.
