Course overview
This course is a study of the modalities and modes of treatment in clinical practice for substance use disorder treatment and whether they are evidence-based or treatment as usual. This study is based on the self-report of clinicians. There is a gap in evidence-based practice, with clinicians predominately using group therapy and evidence-based treatment being predominantly individual therapy. Clinicians reported using evidence-based treatment implementation with individual therapy models (CBT and MI) being adapted to groups.
