Course overview

Older adults experience the highest suicide rate in Ohio. Yet, warning signs and risk factors are often overlooked or mistaken for a normal part of aging. This webinar will provide an overview of suicide among older adults, including Ohio data and local trends, while exploring common risk factors, warning signs, and protective factors that strengthen resilience. Participants will also be introduced to the new Identifying and Reducing Suicide Risk in Older Ohioans resource guide and learn practical strategies for recognizing risk, supporting older adults, reducing access to lethal means, and connecting individuals to appropriate care and community resources.
