They are considered permanent but are reviewed and updated annually and may be amended, altered, or repealed. The professions and practices of social work, mental health counseling, and marriage and family therapy are addressed in numerous Florida laws, and many updates to the laws involve the inclusion of social workers, mental health counselors, and marriage and family therapists for implementation. This course will highlight and provide in-depth understanding and relevant focus on the Florida statutes that define the scope of practice of social work, mental health counseling and marriage and family therapy.
