Course overview

Describe the Eastern garden model of health and recall the mnemonic encoding the 24-hour meridian circulation beginning with the lung meridian. Identify the element, energy flow direction, and associated muscles of the lung, large intestine, stomach, and spleen meridians. Apply yin-yang theory and AK muscle testing to differentiate hyper-facilitated from inhibited meridian states. Demonstrate the noon biological-clock reset using conception vessel 14 and governing vessel 20 to address jet lag. Perform pulse diagnosis using the sigma-listu mnemonic and stimulate Triple Heater 4 to strengthen weak pulses. Apply the now-and-then alarm point protocol using luo points and back shu adjustments to resolve time-linked meridian imbalances. Recall the back shu points using the associated mnemonic and interpret thermal changes along meridians for diagnosis. Describe the origins of electro-acupuncture according to Voll and explain how substances alter point conductivity through a test plate. Interpret EAV meter readings of 50, above 65, and below 40, and recognize the significance of the indicator drop. Locate the vagus nerve command measuring point and apply it in AK to assess vagal function. Describe the anatomy, energy flow, and clinical role of the heart meridian and its office of lord and sovereign. Differentiate deficient and excess heart meridian patterns and identify key acupoints including Heart 3, 5, 7, 9, and CV14. Demonstrate subscapularis testing and treat a hyper-facilitated heart meridian by draining Small Intestine 8. Describe the anatomy, timing, and blood-energy characteristics of the bladder meridian and its relationship to the kidney. Identify the back shu points from Bladder 11 through Bladder 23 and match each to its associated organ. Locate Bladder 24 through Bladder 34 and describe indications for the four sacral crevice points. Identify Bladder 40, 58, 60, 62, 65, and 67 and describe their command, luo, and elemental point functions. Apply tonification at Bladder 67 and sedation at Bladder 65, and select tibialis anterior for bladder meridian testing. Demonstrate the bladder AK protocol using tibialis anterior, CV3, and mother-child alarm point testing to guide treatment. Analyze clinical bladder presentations including nocturia, low back pain, and plantar fasciitis using now-and-then meridian protocols.
