Bridging the Gap: School-Based OT Meets Telehealth (Self Paced)

Course overview

This course will explore the occupational therapy process as it applies to telehealth services in schools. The course will cover common ethical concerns related to telehealth platforms and examine the roles of occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants by highlighting the benefits and challenges of delivering services in this format. Through case studies, participants will review key evaluation tools and interventions used in telehealth practice. Additionally, the course will address the role of caregivers and introduce the coaching model to promote the safe and effective implementation of interventions via telehealth. Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students This occupational therapy continuing education course uses the following instructional methods: visual aides (ie slides), discussion board, guided note taking, and learning, and practice opportunities.
