Course overview

Systemic Effects of Dry Needling is a home-study continuing education course designed for rehabilitation and sports medicine professionals seeking to expand their understanding of the physiological mechanisms underlying dry needling interventions. Through a review of current evidence, participants will explore the role of inflammation in tissue healing, the regenerative and remodeling processes stimulated by dry needling, and the systemic neuroendocrine responses associated with hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activation. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between dry needling, inflammatory modulation, mechanotransduction, tissue regeneration, and pain management to enhance clinical decision-making and evidence-based patient care. Upon completion, participants will demonstrate an improved understanding of both the local and systemic biological responses that contribute to the therapeutic effects of dry needling.
