Introduction to Negative Pressure Therapy - Home Study provides an evidence-informed introduction to the principles, physiological mechanisms, and clinical applications of negative pressure therapy for the management of musculoskeletal conditions. Participants will explore the historical evolution of cupping therapy alongside contemporary mechanical negative decompression technologies, gaining an understanding of how negative pressure influences tissue mobility, circulation, lymphatic function, pain modulation, and recovery. The course reviews the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, the scientific evidence supporting negative pressure interventions, and the proposed mechanisms through which these therapies facilitate rehabilitation and functional recovery. Learners will examine current research related to cupping, mechanical decompression, postoperative edema management, and myofascial pain while developing an understanding of appropriate clinical indications, contraindications, precautions, and patient selection criteria.
