Course overview

This 1 hour course covers the importance of good body mechanics in the day to day events of your job. Caregiving involves a variety of physical activities such as lifting, reaching and bending. You may be helping a person get in and out of bed, transferring someone in or out of a wheelchair or carrying groceries and other supplies. Using proper posture and following the principles of body mechanics will make your job easier and safeguard your health, as well as that of your clients. Upon completion of this training, the participant will: understand proper posture; understand the principles of body mechanics; recognize the importance of proper posture and proper body mechanics.
