Course overview

This 3-hour interactive workshop explores the intersection of compassion fatigue, burnout, and moral injury among mental health professionals and the systems they work within. Participants will examine the neurobiological underpinnings of stress and empathy fatigue, identify key personal and organizational risk factors, and learn to apply evidence-informed resilience strategies that support both clinician well-being and ethical, sustainable practice. Through discussion, self-assessment, and guided reflection, attendees will connect theory to real-world clinical and workplace challenges including documentation pressures, managed care demands, and emotional labor while cultivating tools for recovery, meaning-making, and systemic change.
