The dentist and the dental hygienist are trusted professionals who treat patients and families within their practice over the years. Patients rely on the expertise of dental professionals to examine the oral tissues and make recommendations for treatment and strategies that support overall health. Many systemic diseases may appear in the head and neck region in the earliest stages of the disease process. Many of the systemic diseases may be those not commonly seen, but certainly not less important to recognize than those that are very common. Early diagnosis will result in less surgery, more likely a positive outcome and certainly less stress for the patient. The early diagnosis will also lead to more treatment options for the patient. This live webinar highlights lesser-known yet clinically significant oral and dermatologic conditions. It emphasizes the importance of early recognition, accurate diagnosis, and timely referral. Covered conditions include: Vitiligo Crohn Disease Graft vs. Host Disease Scleroderma Lupus Erythematosus, Geographic Tongue White Sponge Nevus Tobacco-Related Oral Changes Lichen Planus Oral and Skin Melanoma Squamous Cell and Basal Cell Carcinoma Pemphigus Vulgaris Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid
