Course overview

1. Describe the underlying inflammatory mechanisms and airway changes associated with asthma and COPD. 2. Differentiate between asthma and COPD in terms of clinical features, triggers, and response to treatment. 3. Explain the use of diagnostic tools such as spirometry and peak expiratory flow meters in evaluating respiratory conditions. 4. Implement individualized, evidence-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment plans for asthma and COPD. 5. Recognize signs and symptoms of acute exacerbations and initiate appropriate emergency interventions to manage respiratory distress.
