1. Define depression and identify the key risk factors associated with its occurrence in older adults. 2. Recognize the signs, symptoms, and different types of depression commonly seen in older people. 3. Describe evidence-based treatments and preventive strategies for managing depression in geriatric patients. 4. Explain the use and effectiveness of the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) as a screening tool. 5. Identify trusted resources for clinical assistance and patient support in addressing late-life depression.
