Assisting with Self-Medication

Course overview

This two-hour continuing education course provides Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely assist patients with self-medication in accordance with Florida laws, regulations, and best practices. Participants will review medication safety principles, infection prevention, documentation requirements, patient rights, communication strategies, and the recognition and reporting of medication errors and adverse drug reactions. The course emphasizes safe, ethical, and person-centered care while promoting compliance with applicable state and federal standards.
