Shading Suicide: Identifying Signs of Suicide in the Black Community

Course overview

In this workshop, participants will gain knowledge on how to identify signs of suicide within the Black Community and guidance on how to learn and to look for the subtle nuances of active and passive suicidal behavior in the Black community. Participants will be able to apply the concepts of race and poverty to suicidal behavioral to provide improved, culturally competent responses for individuals struggling with suicidal behaviors, thoughts, and feelings.
