Course overview

Prescribing for refractive error in children is not the same as prescribing for adults. Emmetropization plays a key role in management decisions, as is the binocular vision system. Pediatric myopia comes with its own set of challenges, especially in infancy-as myopia is rarely just myopia in the early years. Malingering can complicate treatment perspectives and must be exposed. Add cultural influences and pediatric prescribing of spectacles can be downright perplexing. Cases will be presented in this bidirectional discussion of factors when managing refractive in our youngest populations.
