Course overview

Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to: List the morphological, histological and histopathological features of Nocardia microorganisms and their associated tissue patterns of injury, including histological differences by type of Nocardia species. Explain the clinical implications of categorizing Nocardia species by complexes and outline methods that can be used to categorize them appropriately. Discuss the treatment implications of determining the species and complex of a given Nocardia isolate.
