Course overview

Glaucoma is a progressive optic neuropathy characterized by retinal ganglion cell loss and optic nerve cupping. However, many ocular and systemic conditions can mimic glaucomatous optic neuropathy, potentially leading to misdiagnosis and inappropriate management. This course explores optic nerve and retinal conditions that can mimic glaucoma. Through illustrative case examples and structural and functional testing, participants will learn key differentiating points between true glaucoma and its mimickers, leading to accurate diagnosis, appropriate testing, and optimal patient care.
