Publishing in peer-reviewed journals is critical for career development. This course will review the publication process. Common errors will be discussed, as well as appropriate scientific writing, selecting the journal, following the instructions to authors, plagiarism, appropriate referencing, the review process and responding to reviewer's comments. The role of the journal editor and how decisions are reached will be explained, as well as what reviewers and editors are looking for. Also, practices to increase the likelihood of acceptance, as well what is likely to lead to rejection.
