Course overview

Amblyopia remains a leading cause of preventable vision loss in children, yet diagnosis and management can be complex for the busy comprehensive optometrist. This course reviews research-backed recommendations for management, including diagnostic criteria, refractive correction, secondary treatments, adjustments, endpoints, follow-up and recurrence risks. We will share clinical tools, including flowcharts and the Amblyopia Navigator Decision-support Instrument (ANDI), a new, free, web-based app from the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG).
