Learn moreCourse overview
This comprehensive course provides a clinically relevant approach to the evaluation and rehabilitation of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine injuries in active and athletic populations. Participants will review detailed spine anatomy-including osseous, ligamentous, musculotendinous, and neuroanatomy- and examine the epidemiology of sports-related spine injuries, with emphasis on how age and skill level influence presentation and recovery. Common conditions such as disc injuries, fractures, whiplash, spondylolysis, and postural deformities will be explored alongside evidence-informed examination strategies and differential diagnosis. Through a combination of lectures, case-based discussion, and hands-on lab/demonstration sessions, clinicians will develop practical skills in manual therapy techniques, including joint mobilization, myofascial mobilization, and neural mobilization. The course also emphasizes progressive exercise prescription, focusing on core stabilization, neuromuscular control, and sport-specific conditioning to restore function and support safe return to activity. Attendees will leave with immediately applicable tools to enhance clinical reasoning, improve patient outcomes, and confidently manage spine injuries across a range of populations.
