Course overview

This course will discuss sleep and breathing and how normal or abnormal patterns can impact ocular health. We will review the importance of sleep and breathing in overall health, and discuss the physiological mechanisms and roles that each have and how they are intertwined in impacting ocular health. The recent increase in research on sleep and breathing patterns in different eye diseases will be explored, and this course will focus on both anterior segment (keratoconus and ocular surface diseases) as well as posterior segment (glaucoma and retinal disease) conditions that are impacted.
