Course overview

This course will discuss case examples where low vision patients with inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) are co-managed by a primary care/ocular disease provider and low vision provider. Eye conditions such as Stargardt's disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Leber's congenital amaurosis, and Occult Macular dystrophy can result in impaired vision, underscoring the importance of proper detection, while low vision rehabilitation can help improve quality of life. For each case, the detection/diagnosis process, ocular health management, and low vision management will be discussed.
