Course overview
This two day live course will prepare therapists to confidently perform Prenatal Massage. It will give therapists an understanding of the 40 weeks of pregnancy for both the mother and her child, as well as the benefits massage therapy can provide. Therapists will become aware of precautions and accommodations that are needed for Prenatal Massage. Therapists will practice draping, positioning, bolstering.therapists will get experience performing Sideline massage geared toward Lymphatic Stimulation and relaxation. Each day will consist of about four hours of lecture, notes and demonstration and about four hours of hands on practice for students. Class will include a one hour lunch and two fifteen minute breaks. Therapists will learn several techniques to provide relief for the expectant mother and how to perform them in the Sideline position. The goal of this class is to inform therapists of the importance of massage during pregnancy and to help them to be comfortable working on expectant mothers. The class will include a treatment room set up, safe essential oil use for Prenatal Massage and more.
