Learn moreCourse overview
We live in what is referred to as a very mobile society and during the course of any day all of us are exposed to numerous potentially life-threatening organisms. These may be in the form of pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi. We may not like to think about this and often take our environments for granted but we are frequently and often unknowingly exposed to many infectious organisms we are not even aware of. These organisms can cause diseases that can be spread, directly or indirectly, from one person to another. Microorganisms that can be transmitted from animals to humans exist as well and the infectious diseases caused by these organisms are called Zoonotic diseases.
